Mardi Gras Masks

The week before Spring Break, Leila's mom, Dina, and several of her Eighth Grade students shared a Mardi Gras tradition with us - making fancy masks!  The children enjoyed meeting and working with the eighth graders, adding colorful feathers and sparkling glitter to their masks.  The children also had a chance to try King's Cake.  Hidden inside was a small prize and the child who found it was named King or Queen of the Mardi Gras celebration.  The kindergartners love these mixed grade projects!  We are so fortunate to share in such opportunities with older students,  learning about cultural events and engaging in hands on experiences.
